ABOUT

RPMIsph day 1 (6).jpg

The aim of SACCMA is to create collaborations, exchange knowledge and to share resources to advance expertise in the field of cell culture models in the African context. The vision of SACCMA is further to bring together researchers and biotechnology companies from different African countries, working on various aspects of specialized and advanced cell-based models, bio-engineering, bioprinting and stem cell cultures.

The society was established in 2019, following an Advanced Cell Culture Collaborative Meeting hosted by the South African Medical Research Council, where a number of established researchers in the field met and discussed the need for community or network in the region.

Membership is open to students, postdoctoral fellows, researchers and academic scientists.

SACCMA will host a biennial conference.
